Taipei Tours is an independent guide to the guided trips leaving Taipei: the northeast coast run to Yehliu, Jiufen and Shifen, the city walks and rides, the tea hills south of the city, and the Taipei 101 deck. Why this site exists
Search for a day trip out of Taipei and you get four platforms selling near-identical itineraries with no way to tell them apart. One includes the Yehliu Geopark ticket. One includes the sky lantern. One skips Yehliu entirely and gives you Jiufen at dusk instead. That information sits three clicks deep in an includes box, so we pulled it out and put it side by side.
We read the operator listings, the itinerary timings and the recent verified reviews, then write down the parts that change your day: minutes at each stop, what you pay on the spot in cash, where the group meets, and which departures run in Japanese.
How the tours get on this page
We do not list everything on sale in Taipei. A tour appears here when it clears the same baseline:
- A licensed Taiwanese operator with guides who work in English
- A public review record we can quote, with the count and the score shown on the card
- Inclusions written plainly enough that we can tell you what is not in the price
- Free cancellation, so a typhoon warning does not cost you the booking
What we are not
We do not sell tours, take payments or hold your booking. Every reservation is made on GetYourGuide or Viator, and those platforms handle changes, refunds and customer service. Prices shown here are the lowest adult rate we saw when we last checked the listing, in US dollars, and they move with the season and the exchange rate.
How the site makes money
The site is free to read. When you book through a link here, the platform pays us a small commission and you pay the same price you would have paid going direct. Commission rates are similar across the operators listed, and they play no part in the order of the cards or in what we write about a tour.
About the author
Ten years walking the same four stops on the northeast coast, most of them out of Taipei Main Station. Rides each city route herself before it goes on this page, re-checks the meeting points every season because two operators have moved theirs, and will tell you when the Pingxi train is the honest answer instead of a booking.
